I now have a worthless $11 cable that will occupy my junk drawer. I know it's not my ssd, as i can plug it in to the old cable and the drive mounts right away.
Amazon did offer me a refund and was told; it's cheaper to refund and to toss away the adapter, instead of doing the return process. As best as i can tell the item is not eligible for return because it does not have a serial number printed on the cabl... Read More

Easy to use, plug and play device for getting data to and from sata drives
The connection to the drive is very loose and makes me scared to even bump the drive for fear of losing connection and unmounting.
0 doesn't provide enough power to spin the drive.
Price
Works great and has a very good price.
It does what it is supposed to do, but it seems very pricey at $40.
I think $20 would be much more reasonable.

It is not depicted in the demo images but this item also has a power cord that must be plugged into a power socket to power the drive so be aware you will need to have a free outlet to employ this or buy an outlet extender

These issues aside once the drive is mounted and set in a safe place it maintains connectivity and all directories are accessible

I never let an old hard drive go even if selling the laptop with a functioning motherboard and display
