Pros & Cons
Pros
This usb adapter is worth the price! Performs as advertised. Also very reliable.
Startech network adapter works great with my dell xps 9570. Provides up to 1 gb transfer speeds. And one of my backup strategies of syncing files between the two systems is now much quicker.
Usb-c dongle provides a standard wired ethernet connector. Bought two of these to build a three-interface router. Wanted to decrease our wifi congestion by connecting my mac airbook to our ethernet.
Cons
Works great, until it starts working only intermittently after several months. If any step is out of order it refuses to come up.
I hate writing bad reviews but either i'm really unlucky or this product is junk. These devices are like incandescent light bulbs and only last a relatively short time. Not very happy with the shelf life of the item.
The ideapad 710s is not compatible with windows 10. The chipset is an asix ax88179, which isn't included in macos. The documentation only mentions compatibility for windows xp, 7, 8 and 8.

Princess impression: this usb adapter is great and reasonably priced
Without a doubt, it's the best $25 i've ever spent on any kind of computer equipment ever.
Its a low price point, very small and portable, so its an easy way to provide ethernet connection to a device that does not have ports.
