Pros

Startech and top-longer converters worked great. Well made with good heft to it and quality, thick cabling. Thanks to startech for their many solutions to these oddball problems.

The adapter plugs directly in a standard usb port. It allows me to use my emachines kb-018 multimedia ps/2 keyboard again.

Works fine with windows 10 and let me insert my new computer into the kvm chain. No errors, and lives happily with the iogear kvm switch. Working well so far, no glitches, no problems.

Northgate keyboards have a ps2 connection. Just plug the ps2 barcode scanner into this adapter and then to the usb port on the cpu.

Cons

If you follow the instructions this thing is dangerous! There are many brands and items available and no real way of knowing whether any or all of them will work. When it gets confused, the only way to recover is to unplug/replug the usb end.

I like the price and am thrilled with the response time, thank you.

I found a software company that charged me $35 just for the driver.

At about $25 it was also a verygood value.

I didn't want to toss my old mechanical keyboard and pay $100 for a new one just because of a lack of an old ps2 port.

Competitiveness

Ordered 4 different ones and the startech and top-longer converters worked great.

We have had great success with startech.

Amazon did refund my monies for the other brand's adapter that didn't work.

The top-longer is cheaper, but the startech seems better made and better looking.
