If the laptop slides again the lead may possibly break although it is robust so i dont think it would but the flash drive itself would be safe

Ukdpb010n8up6crefcm cr ryp prd ttl sol 5 i just wish that it was usb3 and that it would have some mechanism for capturing the usb plug so it stayed connected something that would bind down on both sides to hold it in place
