Pros & Cons
Pros
The steelcase gesture has the best armrests on any chair. They are adjustable in about any position and swing smoothly. The arms are a mystery to me, but the elbow support is great.
This isn't a chair that forces you to have good posture, but rather one that conforms to however you like to sit and provides support. The seatpan on the gesture is meant to wobble a bit to promote moving positions and activating the spine to get nutr... Read More
The key here is that the back pain gets progessively better each day. I feel like my back is melting into the backrest.
Cons
One of the armrests creaks when i press on it. It's not just the seat that wobbles; it's the entire chair above the wheels. The chair squeaks and squeals.
The seat has very little padding, and the lumbar support is practically non-existent. It makes no sense that the cheaper steelcase leap automatically has adjustable lumba bar.
I'm not sure what it is about this chair that justifies the price. There are a lot of chairs that are much more comfortable, stylish, functional, etc. Reviews praised this chair.
The arms are too adjustable on the horizontal plane. Backrest is not adjustable. It's too low for my curvature.
Highlights
Quality
And the quality, it will last at least 3-4 times as long.
I recommend both the product and the service based on my experience.
This is the most i've spent on a chair and while i am happy with the chair itself, i would not buy this chair again.
But once they recognized the issue, they went above and beyond to make sure i was satisfied with the resolution.
Price
Eventually, i had to return it and once i saw the price to buy one, i opted for a cheaper ~$275 chair from office depot.
I sat in some $2,000 + chairs and just couldn't justify the cost.
Packaging/appearance
The guy who came to assemble it was here for approximately three minutes, the time it took him to take it out of the box.
Competitiveness
I got one of these for 500 dollars off and at that price it was unbeatable value vs competing chairs.
It's expensive but it's worth the investment since it'll last a long time.
I received my chair but there was a 50lb metal object inside the box with it.
After you've had a chair like this, you will never go back to one-size-fits-all non-adjustable chairs when you are working.
