Pros

The steelcase desk chair can support up to 400lbs. It's so comfortable compared to my older chair, which i had thought was comfortable simply because i'd adjusted to its flaws over time. This chair supports my husband who is nearly 300 pounds.

The back lumbar support works great. It is a breathable seat. As with a bed mattress, softer isn't always better.

Reviewer has been using his for 18 months and one for 6 months. They look new and are very sturdy. They are thin and lightweight so i have some concern about durability but only time will tell there.

It's the easiest chair i have ever assembled. One one hand. Assembly - took seconds even without looking at directions. Only problem is sliding the cushion on.

Only downside is that the armrests are hard as rocks. The recline feature has 3 locked (no recline), slight resistant, even less resistance. The padded arm rests swivel to the left and right.

Cons

But without that, this chair is worthless and i'm in a lot of pain. This chair provides no comfort at all whatsoever and has actually caused my back, hip, and legs to ache even more at the end of the day.

Good price point with highly adjustable settings for arms,height,back,sturdy, the most easier chair to put together

The most expensive chair i've ever bought, but worth every penny.

I had cheaped out on it, when i needed a home office chair, and got it for about $200.

You would hope you would get a new product when you pay $470.

Shipping

It came in 3 days and was packaged very well.

The series 1 chair came safely packaged and shipped with no physical damage and arrived in one day which was truly awesome!

I feared it would be damaged in shipping but wasn't.

Packaging/appearance

Arrived in a clean, closed, well protected, sturdy box.

Just keep the packing material until you are certain.

Competitiveness

It's so comfortable compared to my older chair, which i had thought was comfortable simply because i'd adjusted to its flaws over time.

All i can say is it is worth it, the chairs may look alike in the pictures but there is no comparison.

The quality doesn’t seem better than my $200 office chair but that chair doesn’t have a 12 year warranty.
