Packaging/appearance
It's easily fixed by adjust the angle of the headband to allow the earpads to sit around your ears differently.
Competitiveness
I'm coming to these from a steelseries siberia headset that i've had for 4 years now.
I had a pair of arctis 3 headset and it was also very comfortable, but it was wired and caused grief when i would get tangled.

The only thing i find mildly annoying is that these arent bluetooth enabled but rather require you connect either via the regular audio jack that comes with it or via the transceiver thats plugged into the device you need to connect to

As said in a review i saw on youtube the down side is that it feels too small when you wear it on your neck
