Pros
Connecting this controller is super easy, on both windows pc via usb adapter, and my nvidia shield tv via bluetooth. Charging takes no time at all with a fast charging brick.
The build quality is excellent (except for the analog sticks). Most positively possibly maybe yes. The replacement controller works like it suppose to. Literally plug and play.
It's small in size so it fits comfortably in the hands. Material for the hand grips is soft and textured. The * and joysticks are very responsive and smooth.
These particular * are usually default key mapped to something vital like sprinting. This controller definitely has some heft to it. The * much like this series s controllers, are nice and clocky.
Cons
First off the bat controller constantly will not recognize as first player. Have to hard reset entire pc to go back to 1st player. Restarting whole computer was only fix.
There's a reason this garbage was discontinued. I have $15 controllers that have lasted longer than this one. Piece of junk now.
The quality of this controller is lackluster. I love steelseries headsets and keyboards but this control is not of the same quality.
The left stick has so much drift now (nov 2022) that i had to calibrate over 50% of the dead zone range which destroyed any precision. Many controller nowadays have xyab * that are colored or illuminate, this doesn't.
When connected to bluetooth the four white leds on the controller blink every two seconds. They literally drop the bluetooth connection every 40 seconds or so, then take 8-10 seconds to reconnect. It’s not like an iphone or most other rechargeable dev... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Two types of connectivity, good response, doesn’t disconnect while being used, and feels good in the hands.
It feels great to play with, it's very light, and has a very long battery life.
The toggle sticks only lasted me a week or so then i had the left toggle stock do what's called stick drifting.
I've never gone wrong with steelseries products so i had to get one of these.
Price
Overall a great purchase for the price.
This controller was well worth the money.
I have personally not felt a controller that feels this premium, let alone in this price range.
Packaging/appearance
Packaging was clearly well designed to protect the controller, more so than i would have expected and perfect for being shipped.
Competitiveness
The sratus duo essentially provides a solution to every problem i have with the xbox controller.
Besides that, it's exactly 1 step up from the xbox controllers.
I may upgrade the rating based on that over time as i have had problems with name brand controllers that had less production quality.
