Pros

Opti version has a sensor that detects when the pen is submerged. I wish i had gotten the one that comes with rechargeable batteries and recharges via usb. The batteries are secured nicely using a wide screw on the bottom.

It works like a charm. Amazingly simple and quick to use. These little gadgets are the answer.

Steripen fitsall filter works better than filters. No hassles with pumps and tubes like my friend's filters.

Cons

This product did not prove electrically reliable. I'm not sure if it gets accidentally pressed in my pack (though i keep on the top) so that the flashlight function comes on and runs out the battery. I am going back to pump filters, they have the adde... Read More

Very useful, super long battery life and never got sick!

Pros - simple, works, well madecons - hard to see the light in the daylight, non-standard battery (i carry an extra)

The first held up very well then just died after about three years of moderate use.

You can not leave batteries in the unit they will drain causing the unit to not work.

Price

The price is perfect for peace of mind, and it really is easy to lug.

Operation with the rcr 123a rechargeable battery solved the problem of cost and voltage drop.
