Pros & Cons
Pros
This thing rocks! I'm sure the fancier machines work better, but for a relatively inexpensive option, this is great. Not the poppers fault, just working out the receipe.
This version, stainless steel takes about 2 min on medium heat on my gas stove to start popping. After using it many times for making popcorn i re-purposed it for roasting coffee beans.
Cons
Go with the wabash farms version. The lid is finicky and no handles to grip on to. The only redeeming point for this is the stainless steel.
While it does make great popcorn it is a giant hunk of *. The popcorn is incredibly light and fluffy.
The mechanism gets stuck constantly. A razor blade cleans it off, but i found it unacceptable to expend that kind of energy after each batch. The stupider issue is that the side flaps come off because the hinge mechanisms come apart.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent material and the mixing system works great.
The construction is robust and the stainless steel makes clean up a breeze.
This popper is all stainless, has a very heavy bottom, and metal gears!
I went with this one since it's made of stainless steel instead of the cheap aluminum.
Price
Best popcorn popper you will ever need for the price, out beat's other pricer brands.
Competitiveness
I like this pan better than 2 previous whirly pop brands.
The design is similar to other stove-top poppers, but you can tell this one will last a long time.
