Pros & Cons
Pros
The protac hl5-x does! It has a fair bit of head weight and is blindingly bright! This is noticeably brighter with a much tighter beam.
The battery life with (18650) rechargeable batteries is really good. The batteries are made in japan as well as the protection circuits. Great product, battery uses up fast.
The hl4 is better if you need more of a flood light. It shoots light out very far and has a very nice pattern. Will keep this light for a while. It puts my older maglite to shame!
Streamlight never fails, bright with good focus, running it with 2 18650 batteries. I just wish it kept that initial lumen count for prolonged periods of time. The battery holds a charge much longer than i thought it would.
Cons
This light is nice when it works. It eats a lot of battery when it is on. These flashlights are bright for 30 minutes of occasional use but will dim 80% at a rapid pace.
Highlights
Quality
Having used stream lights professionally for over 20 years i can say the quality is unsurpassed
It has excellent grip and feels solid and well built.
The light has a rubberized grip and button, the holster i received didn't fit at all.
Click once for on, multiple times to scroll through the brightness settings, and once for off.
Price
Awesome light for the price, i have many other fenix, nightcore and olight lights, this light for its size is one of the bright... Read More
The rechargeable batteries make it cost effective and provide for more lumens.
My opinion:the protac hl5 is worth $130-135.
Short of a spotlight this is as bright of a flashlight that can buy for the money.
Shipping
Arrived just in time for hurricane dorian.
Packaging/appearance
I realize there are brighter flashlights out there than this one, but the size and brightness of this one make for a really nice package.
Competitiveness
This thing is comparable to name brand off-road lights, like rigid industries.
You can’t get more lumens at that price from any other light i’ve found.
