Our new folai stud finder has no problems with textured plaster which is between ½ and 3/4 inches thick.
Very useful, easy to use the different functions
It reliably detected studs at roughly 16 inch intervals along a couple of walls.
The backside of the unit has what feels like the soft side of velcro so it won't scratch your walls.
Price

If you are looking for a inexpensive multi use stud finder for walls other than insulated i would recommend this one.
It worked in our cheap rental but not in our older home and which has quite thick, textured plaster walls.

The stud finder is powered by a single included 9v battery

After placing on the wall in a location away from a stud you press a button to calibrate the sensor and then slide the sensor along the wall until you get a reading on the display to indicate the edge of a stud

You then repeat from the other side of the stud to find the other edge

Once you have the stud location you can mark the center of the stud or any other location on the stud you may need
