Tried all sorts of methods including exactly as instructions and it does not work even through 15mm plasterboard on a 2 wide rafter

It was consistent when there definitely was something in the wall but occasionally beeps over a spot one moment then not the next so the occasional false positive i guess

When that happened id just recalibrate and recheck the spot a few times to work out of its just reacting to something nearby or it is something questionable about the particularly spot
