Pros

The one-way gate is sturdier. It opens by sliding the top latch and lifting the gate. The gate latches well and for double security there's a flip knob lock on either side for extra locking. It has a door that you can go in and out of. This is super s...  Read More

This baby gate is a nice-looking cherry/mahogany and black metal latched gate. It's just a gray metal one, so this one looks classier. This one is very attractive with wood look styling.

It is super easy to install, and includes all the wall supports and protectors. It also comes with adjustable pieces to wedge the gate in the frame. Comes with four supports that can be drilled into the wall to keep it from shifting.

I normally use child gates when my dogs are pups, but one of them was sick enough that i needed to keep a close eye on him. Child/baby safety gates work just great for our furry kiddos also. It is sturdy and has not been broken or displaced by curious...  Read More

It adjusts to many door sizes, but that means an extra part to store somewhere (no big deal, just fyi) this 30 tall baby gate fits openings up to 28 to 42 wide with 2 included extension frames.

Cons

Neither the latch nor door hinges are extendable, so definitely it’s not adjustable. It takes too much force to lift the gate, which fatigues the dowels, leading to the early failure. Door is 1 inch too short to reach the latch!

Quality

It is well made, easy to install and effective.

This is super sturdy and opens with one hand then closes behind you.

After a week it seemed to fall in place ,loosen up to close properly.

The locking knob is strong - even a busy child shouldn't be able to move it.

Price

My shopping is donating to my favorite charity, canines for independence at no cost to me.

Packaging/appearance

We bought the gate because we wanted one that looks nice & perfect for what we needed it for.

Has a nice look to it and a good addition to our new home.

Also, came out of the box with a large dent on the wood trim on the door.

Tells me someone is not doing their job with packaging.

Competitiveness

Compared to the cheap $40 gates i have around my house, this one goes above and beyond those.

I like this gate better than others i've tried.
