It was difficult to slide and latch right from the beginning and what ended up happening from constantly having to battle with it was the top of the screw attaching the metal bracket to the wood frame was sheared off leaving the threaded end lodged in the gate
My husband tried repairing it by moving the bracket over one inch from where it was and attaching it there but after only another couple months that screw broke also
