Pros
This is dark colored, whereas the other was light colored wood which was very irritating visually. It is so easy to install. If you order this product i recommend getting a wall saver like. Wall saver for pressure gates, 2 pack.
Cons
This gate is a major disappointment. The company which makes the gate, summer, is not very customer friendly. They want the receipt and all kinds of info the replace the gate. Feels like plywood.
It barely latches anymore. The little latch at the bottom of the gate that's supposed to close never latches correctly. The gate automatically springs closed, but half the time it wont lock properly, so you have to push it locked every time to make su... Read More

Very solid once installed and properly adjusted.
The wood is amazing and of great quality.
It has a pull up feature that if you hands are full, you will not be able to open it.
I have an 11 week old frenchie puppy and the gate wasn't latched completely and he got his head/neck caught in the slats of the gate.
Packaging/appearance
This was exactly as pictured and described.
I know the box was listed as opened so i had to look up the assembly instructions but still satisfied with the product.

However where they were placed in my home i had to remove a plastic stopper to stop the gate from swinging both ways
