It defeats the purpose of having a gate. There are four * that are supposed to lock the gate in place at that length, but the * on my item weren't tight enough.

This brown one is pretty crummy in my opinion. Dont waste your money on this pos. The quality is rubbish.

Very wobbly right away. Either have to stare at that thing or ruin the rail to scrape it off. I am not the first reviewer to mention this and yet the company took no action to fix this!

This cannot be easily installed on a stairway that doesn't have walls that go at least 3-6 inches past the start of the stairs.

About 2 weeks ago, i had to reinstall it.
