Pros & Cons
Pros
It works flawlessly with the arduino. Transistors (2n2222) at 5v inbetween the pi and the relays, and that works perfectly. Works reliably so far with 3.
I'm using this four relay module to provide reversing current to a small dc motor. I hooked it up to raspberry pi 3 b+ running octoprint with the enclosure plug-in. It works perfectly to control 2 12vdc pneumatic solenoids from an arduino uno.
It's a solid product and it was a valuable learning experience. Definitely a smart purchase. Would buy again.
Cons
One arrived doa, the other has only one functioning channel. Sending 5v to the relay opens it, otherwise it's closed.
Highlights
Quality
Good value for the price, quality construction, fast delivery, and it works as advertised.
Very nice board, works perfectly with the raspberry pi and nanodlp for switching the uv led backlight on and off.
The manufacturer seems to have made a mistake in the description of the product.
This relay module works directly with the 3.
Shipping
The only issue was shipping - it came in a damaged box with a few pins bent.
Packaging/appearance
Relay board is nice size for packaging into project.
Competitiveness
Works perfectly to control 2 12vdc pneumatic solenoids from an arduino uno.
As long as you realize that this is active off; that is, any voltage but 0 on the pin from a gpio will close the relay, you will be fine.
Unit worked on gpio pins 27, 26, 25, 32.
