Pros
The device does what its advertised to do. The included pot on the board makes adjustment so easy.
The i2c backpack is an essential to these lcd boards. Current draw is 30ma at full brightness. As is the case with all i 2c lcd units being used with arduino the back light is full on or full off.
Cons
The display is completely invisible through about 80% of the potentiometer's range. The led backlight does not do well with brightness adjustment. Received a dud.
Lcd panel appears to work okay, but the lcd controller made by no-name semi-fab is an utter junk. That's without the i2c/spi serial adapter, just the lcd module alone. This makes me wonder if the lcdcontroller ic buried under the black epoxy blob is a... Read More

Product works fine on initial use, and can't complain about price.

Had been banged around a bit antistatic bag was punctured by pc board leads screen had 14 inch scratch

Cant see the scratch when operating with backlight so dont care enough to return but should have had screen protected and bag wrapped in bubble wrap

Before i even loaded the sketch the device sprung to life when the backlight was powered up displaying a default message
