Bottomline is that as my it architechture improves, local power supplies like this are more often vital to my most solid components. The product looks very well made. The device is exactly what is being advertised.
The sunfounder ups gives me piece of mind that it won't be broken in the event of a power outage. It’s not as seamless as the ups for my computer equipment, so there is room for improvement here, but they are off to a good start.
It is extremely simple to setup and install. The details on how to get, install, and configure the script are straight-forward. It attaches directly to your pi, and can power it for up to 4 hours.
The nut pi lets you shutdown your computer safely. It's a great way to make sure your nut is working properly.
Cons
The battery lasts only 6 mins and the dies. It comes with plastic standoffs that are very weak and cannot take much force or they will break.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do, is at a low price and can save you some issues if the power goes out.

It arrived with more than enough charge to run a rpi 4 and still show 75% for the first test.
Susan answered right away and shipped me the missing cable for free immediately.
One of the cables was missing, i contacted the company and i received a superb customer service.
Packaging/appearance
Nicely packaged and worked with my raspberry pi 4 with no issues at all.
Competitiveness
Compared to the cost of a computer ups for something smaller, this is perfect.
While this product is marketed directly for pis with some jerryriging you can use this with other boards.
It would be better if sunfounder put a connection header on the io ports for the ups.
It's more than just an ups - it will power the rpi much longer than just a battery backup for line power.

This will power your pi solely off the external battery

It comes with the ups circuit board a battery pack some double sided tape a usb connector cable a plastic bottom plate and some mounting hardware

After it has been mounted i attached the ups board to the raspberry pi using the included usbc connector cable then plugged the ups into a usb power source

Like a passthrough power bank the ups provide a smooth transition to battery power when theres a loss of usb power

So to be truly useful it needs some extra worklack of graceful shutdown the ups as it stands does not include a complete solution to gracefully shut down the raspberry pi when the battery is running low or when theres an extended power outage

No battery state querying through usb the ups does not have a builtin mechanism to query the battery state through the usb interface making it challenging to monitor the battery status from the raspberry pi directly
