    It would have been much simpler if it used lag screws instead of phillips wood screws

    Because theyre using smaller screws they needed four reducing the margin of error for pilot holes and all of the screws had to be turned all the way in or you could gamble with stripping the heads by using a drill

    With lag screws you just throw a ratcheting socket on there and crank away and youd only need two screws
