The pen is always handy in the pen holder at the top of the case so it does not get in the way when the unit is in the desktop mode with the keyboard in use

Tbe only point is that the strap for holding the pen is too tight to hold it correctly

To use as a tablet and take handwritten notes on the screen the keyboard can stay attached with the bottom set of magnets and folded under but the magnets that hold the keyboard to the screen and gives the keyboard the incline when typing must be detached from the screen
