Along with the remodel we selected a paint scheme that includes a shade of green that looks very nice in natural light and whiter artificial light but takes on a rather unpleasant dingyyellow cast with traditional 2700k color bulbs

After quite a bit of research i discovered that the sylvania a17 super saver halogen bulbs are available at local bigbox home improvement centers for less than 2 per bulb have a color temperature of about 2900k are smaller than standard a19 size light bulbs so they hide away nicely inside the glass shades of our fixture and output 785 lumens per bulb while consuming only 43 watts instead of 60 watts per bulb

The old 60w g25 bulbs that were in our original fixture output only about 450 lumens

I took one out when i got home to install it and it was broken

The filament inside was flopping around

I took a second one out and gave it a gentle shake and could hear something inside

I like the light but have no opinion yet on longevity
