Pros & Cons
Pros
Installation was very simple; the only modification that needs to be done is to trim one of the tabs on the 9012 hir bulb. Just unscrew the retainer ring at the bask of the housing, plug in the bulb, then screw it back in.
This is the simplest, best bang for the buck lighting upgrade i've ever done. Good light throw, and since the filament is the same as the original bulb, the light distribution and beam pattern is unaffected.
Cons
Anyone expecting a better light than their original headlight for their 2012 chrysler 300 sedan will be dissappointed. The philips is the exact same bulb that is installed on the car and will give the same lousy lighting. For $42/pair, not a good buy.... Read More

Quality
Fit perfectly, and a well made product
Easy to install - trim the extra tab as described in other reviews.
These 9012 bulbs with a slight modification ( less than 1 minute and a pair of diagonal cutters) fit right in the 9006 socket.
Anyone looking to upgrade their 9006 lighting output without the "look at me" aftermarket hid kits, will be surpised how much l... Read More
Price
Much better option than being price gouged by the mechanic when you can do it yourself in 5 minutes!
Way cheaper than the bulb from my local dealer.
I can buy two of these for the price the dealer wants for one!
Shipping
I received this item promptly and made the needed tab modification without a problem using a dremel.
It's a hard size to find and i was thrilled that amazon had it and could get it to me quickly!
Packaging/appearance
Arrived in solid packaging and was a breeze to install (yes, even for me, a girl).
Competitiveness
Overall i do not recommend this procdure as there is no practical difference from the cheaper 9006, but if you're into 'mods' t... Read More

The 9012 bulb does not have the painted tip like the 9006 bulb does

I figure more light might help me avoid a similar collision

Overall i am disappointed in the updated technology i expected a noticeable difference going from an old worn out 9006 1000 lumens to a brand new 9012 1850 lumens but i could tell no difference at all aside from what could be attributed to the placebo effect or wishful thinking

With the middle tab trimmed to half its width and height you can use toenail clippers or wire cutters they work for the low beams on an 0307 honda accord or any car that takes a 9006 bulb
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
To use this bulb the housing must have a glare cap directly in front of the bulb the accord does since the bulb tip is not coated the black part on the tip of the 9006 is clear on the 9012
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Without a glare cap you will blind oncoming drivers and should not use the 9012 in place of the 9006
