Most of these restoration kits contains a uv blocker that is often used in urethanes. These are the same compounds found in minwax helmsman spar urethane.

If youre not used to do "finish sanding" and polishing perhaps ask someone thats good at it as it will greatly affect end result.

I have used kits that included a sanding disc that attaches to a drill and it was less work but i dont think the results were as good

The surface prepare liquid eats away at the oxidation film before starting the whole job and i think this is the secret ingredient

It would be far better to have a small sponge material to rub in the compound as the paper basically disintegrates while applying it
