The batter goes through the basket and cooks right into the basket weaving

It took me 15 minutes of soaking in dish soap then scrubbing with wire brush for another 15 minutes to get all the cooked on batter out of the basket wire

So next time we fried beer batter fish we held it into the hot oil for a few seconds until the bottom started to cook and then slid it off the solid pancake turner used to just barely get it into the hot oil and once we slid it off the pancake turner it actually floated and was wonderful
