Pros

Even when my lovely wife scorches synthetics on the linen setting, the sole is easy to clean. It seems to relish the hard water here in washington, dc. I like the horizontal water fill up, which is easy for my bathroom sinks.

Steaming and pressing works really well. The auto shut off is a life saver. It has to prevent you from scorching something or prevent a fire. I often have to wait for it to heat up again but it heats up fast.

Cons

The cord burns out before the iron wears out. On its 1,000 day anniversary (3 years), this iron will get dumped with a cry of frustration. It instantly burns the fabric with a slight touch of the iron. When the heat does finally regulate it won't heat... Read More

This was purchased at full price for a gift

Great deal and we are very happy with this iron.

If possible, purchase an inexpensive extended warranty, because you will probably need it.

But otherwise it doesn't cost a fortune and works as advertised.

Do not think there is something wrong with it and box it back up.

Competitiveness

Better than other expensive well known brands i have owned.

For the price, i always buy the same iron, even though it does start leaking, because the price is so much better than for similar irons.
