Pros
Removable plates make cleanup very easy and the included sandwich plates make the appliance a 2-in-1 space saver. The plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe. The outside of the appliance can be cleaned with stainless steel cleaner.
Waffles are a little smaller than our old waffle maker, which is probably a good thing, less carbohydrates! Be sure to add a little oil to the waffle batter.
The t-fal avante waffle & sandwich maker is great. It makes great sandwiches using the sandwich griddle. The grill makes a great sandwich, and decent waffles.
My only real complaint is that it does not have an on/off switch and you have to unplug it to turn it off. Thats the only downfall i see. They rave about how wonderful it works.
Cons
The green light is supposed to go on when the waffle/sandwich maker is pre-heated. The latch is a terrible design made from cheap plastic. The downside is that it was defective and the plates didn't fit properly.

Price
I looked all over for a waffle iron i could afford and since the price was right, tried this one.
T-fal is great, i would recommend this to everyone looking for a nice sandwitch maker.
Shipping
Would have loved if it is fast in heating up, takes more than 5 minutes to warm up and get going.
Packaging/appearance
Now i do not have to stand over the stove and watch it cook and flip it over and spill out some of the contents!
If you make your sandwich too thick, the cheese that runs out the edges sometimes seeps into the hinges.

First batch was not successful because i was confused on the lights

The mess i made on that batch cleaned up easily and i tried again this time watching for the preheat light to diminish and the other light to brighten

Although i use a nonstick spray initially its never once stuck

We use a heavier multigrain bread so i always cut off the crust and it works much better
