You can switch between feet and meter plus it has a starting point reference option either from the front or back of the unit

So bring spares even for smaller jobs lasting half a day or shorter depending on how many times you activate the laser

So this most likely a very obvious thing to most people but do not buy this if you need to take measurements outdoors or somewhere very brighti only wish it would say error or something if the area is too bright and it cannot get a measurement instead it just leaves a blank display like it is not working
