True to size with a thickish sock which you’re likely to wear with a boot like this probably bought for walking distances in.
These mil-tec boots use a decent heavy-duty zipper which stands up to serious use and i haven't had a zipper failure with this brand.

These boots have some toe protection but it isnt the solid toe cap found on industrial boots

Sidezip boots often use a cheap nylon zip which splits far too easily under pressure

The side zip opening works well not like some boots and allows the boot to be laced up tightly and when zip undone you can take the boot off
