Great product, suitable for blunt knives. Nice flat and consistent surface on both sides.

A well made piece of kit with a nice rubber base which i found holds the block down pretty well.
It felt easy to use and to sharpen the knife.
I've currently used it only once and my knife has been sharp for the past few months.
To produce super sharp edge on wood carving chisels, planes, sushi knifes etc.

First time trying my hand at sharpening knives so i thought i'd try an inexpensive stone.

Both sides form a nice slurry with water, the packaging suggests that sharpening oil will give better results but i've not tried.
The delivery packaging ensured the stone did not break on arrival.
Competitiveness
Surprisingly good value for money in comparison to more expensive stones.

But if you need a literally razorsharp edge like old fashion barber’s cutthroat then after sharpening on 8000 stone the edge of the blade has to be honed with very fine grit powder

Water works well but you can also use honing oil which is recommended by manufacturer for getting the best result

Feels not abrasive enough though i understand its a finer grain but i dont get distinctive results maybe will try my luck with a natural stone
