Pros

I go back 30 years with tascam products, and they have yet to disappoint. Insects, birds, and distant trains sound true. Great 'prosumer' product. As expected works great.

Eneloop pro has a built-in usb charger that works great. It provides phantom power to my shotgun mic, and that has made my setups easier to setup and run.

Dr-60dmkii preamps are as quiet as the 4pre. Internal pre-amps are a tad noisy. Powering my shotgun mic (48v) through the xlr port is an essential feature.

The dr-60dmkii is a good product for stand-alone audio or synchronized video recording. The slate tone makes editing a snap as far as syncing the audio with the video. I use the camera out to feed into my camera to make sync simple.

Cons

One is a shotgun type mic, and the other is a stereo mic. It has no headroom unless you're using the digital gain, which is really noisy. The unit also shuts off it it does get a loud pop or a wind gust.

The device eats batteries very quickly. It drains batteries as if you put a dead-short wire across the battery terminals.

I have had the device for about a month and i have plugged and unplugged the xlr cables without any problems.

Record anything, pop the sd card into my pro tools station, and then pull the audio into my project.

Price

Price is reasonable, lots of functions and quality is great.

I get 2 days of recording with aa batteries, 2 weeks with a small powerbank i bought for $30 bucks.

I figured at this price point i'd be making a serious sacrifice in sound quality, durability, or something.
