Competitiveness
I already had a handheld tascam digital recorder with very similar mics that made exceptional recordings.
I recently purchased some inexpensive small diaphragm condenser mics and this sounds like hot garbage in comparison.
But this microphone sounds so much clearer than the rode did.
You might find better in a more expensive mic, but for my needs this one works quite well.

The problem is that its design or circuitry or whatever seems to be prone to noise and interference when used with a variety of other cameras

In my case i tried using it with a gopro which almost worked wonderfully except for the crackling sound that occasionally crept into the recording

Unfortunately its not useful to me anymore because the cameras i want to use it with dont really work that well with it but if it does work well with the camera that you want to use it with its a very solid choice for a stereo microphone

As others have mentioned the included extension may appear as a handle but will never support the weight of the camera
