Pros & Cons
Pros
Has a nice, punchy sound, but make sure to get the guitar set up before bringing it home. Out into a mixer to pa speakers. Makes my mini hog sound beautiful through my roland ac33 acoustic amp.
It installs in minutes and sounds great. Easy install. Screws (5 min tops), pickup clips into place. Very convenient for my needs.
This pickup avoids the grounding issue that so many reviews complain about. I hope that anyone who had unresolved grounding issues tries this pickup with a battery operated amp. Taylor has a great article and a couple videos about this along with a fu... Read More
This pickup for the taylor gsmini is everything it is cracked up to be. It works great and makes my gs mini more versatile.
Cons
The gs mini pick-up is very noisy. No sound at all. Just some buzzing.
Bad very, very low gain. Essentially worthless. Really bad, and really disappointing from a great company like taylor. I'm now out 100 bucks and have a non-functioning pickup.
Highlights
Quality
This product works excellant with the new taylor gs mini.
I didn’t realize the lack of volume control but i still like the product
First, to my ear, the pickup adds a nasal quality to the sound of the guitar that is not there acoustically.
(i also bought the taylor v-cable with the volume control knob.
Price
I like it a lot but price should be more like 50.
The price is a little steep since it’s s name brand you pay for.
Shipping
The shipping from the company on amazon.
Packaging/appearance
I asked my wife after service also, and she said that it had been coming through the pa and it sounded great.
Competitiveness
So easy to install and sounds great even with my eletric guitar vox amp!
Instalation can be done without removing strings however i recommend purchasing a set of strings with this for ease of instalation.
The whole 60hz hum thing i never noticed.
I waited to buy this for a year before jumping.

I am not a guitar expert or anything but i am thinking that the people that have the buzz issue with the es go pick up is that they use it with an electric amp

It took less than 20 minutes and if you have moderate to smallsized hands like mine removing the strings is not necessary
