The front of the vest is padded the back is not

The collar on the back is high which is perfect for keeping out the cold but tapered toward the front so it does not rub on my chin

Cycling in the deep south is variable in the winter some days are springlike other times its 20 degrees with a stiff wind and we are all outside training almost all the time

The back is breathable but the front has that little extra warmth to get you out the door
