Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Small stout pot has an insert with super small holes for steeping loose tea. The spout is the best feature of this pot. It's my favorite tea pot for brewing looseleaf tea.

Handle is wide and fits well inside my medium male sized hand. As for detaching the cover, it is * on with a screw, which is set on the glue. One flaw, it’s handle is too big.

The mesh strainer is small enough to constrain rooibos tea well. One thing to note, the strainer are malleable so take care not to crush it with dishes.

It brews a good cup of tea. It's a nice design that so far has held up to daily use and a cast iron tea candle warmer.

This is the perfect size for two mugs of tea. Holds a large amount (34 ounces). It makes around 4 cups of tea, which is perfect for me because it's just my boyfriend and me. Easily holds 5 8 oz cups oftea.

Cons

The kettle in the box is the color of gutter water. I'd have to make more tea than needed to discard the bottom cup where particles settle. After 5 min seep then transferring to a mug, adding a splash of cold creamer and honey, the tea is luke warm.

Quality

I love the size of it and am okay with the color even though it is a dark brown not black.

The color is incredible - a light aqua that is matte but has a rich opalescent quality as well.

It doesn't have the same feel of quality, because it's ceramic and not porcelain; the ceramic feels thinner and cheaper.

Shipping

Lastly, it was packaged very nicely to prevent damage during shipping.

Update 10/28/20: amazing customer service, after all, shipping new tea pot.

Packaging/appearance

The top is also too small to reach inside to clean the tea stains.

As for detaching the cover, it is screwed on with a screw, which is set on the glue.

My first tealyra pot was the 18oz pluto.

Competitiveness

My only complaint is that the lid does not come off so it's awkward to dry in the dish drainer.

Excepting buying all the pots and trying them all out then returning the unbroken washouts and eating the cost of the broken junk

And when you are buying a tea pot so your expensive glass brewer never leaves the kitchen counter and end up shattered on the hardwood floor you want a dirty cheap sacrificial surrogate because you are a financial masochist for manufactured planned selfdestruction and the nonsubscription but you have to keep repeat buying it subscription model or you just enough quality that it reduces the future quantity of repurchases and therefore is the cheaper option all along

It takes 10s of seconds to pour a cup of tea
