Pros & Cons
Pros
This tea still has the cocoa flavor as it cools down and a thick mouth feel. The taste is excellent and it has a good caffeine kick. Mellow flavor, really delivers on the energy boost, a little goes a long way! Great with or without sweetening.
Brews into a rich dark amber. Has a lovely floral note and slightly greater flavor complexity. I like it brewed at a slightly lower temperature (190). Second cup is as elegant at the first but better brewed at 200.
Cons
It's very bitter, tastes way too earthy, and doesn't have the right mix of malt and sweetness. A return was stated ineligible. Even though i purchased the "finer" version of this tea, it’s a disappointment.
Highlights
Quality
It's hard to find one of this quality.
This is great quality tea for the money!
However i have been buying tea from tealyra and love the quality and simplicity of the ordering process.
Competitiveness
For years, i was a great fan of the tea from the teavana stores and was devastated when starbucks put them out of business.
This tea opened me up to a whole new world.

The aroma is rich and promising a little smoke cereal a hint of dark chocolate and caramel but having followed the unusual brewing instructions for this type of black tea heat water to only 205f and steep for only 23 minutes i was surprised to find the tea so bland

It lacks the usual keemun characteristics and tastes more like an assam or like a stronger version of the commercial teas in bags lipton red rose my mother brewed when i was a kid round dark but unremarkable

The trick if you have a stove top kettle is taking the water off the heat just short of a full boil and brewing for no more than three minutes
