The unit seems solid. It is built well, quiet (except for hd spinning) and solved my “improperly ejected’ problem from another dock. The handle really makes that easy and reduces the risk of dropping the unit in transit.

Easy to install and easy to use. Integrates seamlessly with my thunderbolt system. Comes with included tools for the install. Terramaster has excellent technical support and they spent many hours helping me get this set up.

Cons

Both hard drives in the unit are inaccesssable, so there is no backup i can rely on. Test was done with a single zip file of 5gb. When connected via thunderbolt to my mac pro (2019) it is only recognized as a usb device. Tried 2 different macbook pros... Read More

The quality is subpar. The instructions are unnecessarily complicated. Nonexistent tech support.

The sticker on the item as well as the website promises 24 hour turnover. Did not work. There was no way to manually reset the enclosure. Frustrating to have to delete the raid and build a new raid.

I had an issue with it suddenly not mounting after one year of use, which freaked me out.

This enclosure not only looks great, it's the fastest raid-5 solution you can get for the money.

Got over 40tb of fast raid 5 disk space for a fraction of what it would cost using other vendors products.

For this price, they should have given one that's a decent length.
