My pack was about 40-42 pounds and it was nicely balanced and distributed when using the pack.

I can easily get 50lbs of gear into the pack, without even utilizing all available loops and straps on the outside.

The top cover kind of slants when covering the top of the pack, but thats not a big issue at all.

Competitiveness

I wish they were a bit wider to accommodate a 32oz water bottle.

Pack was water resistant, my sleeping system and cloths were in a compacter bag and were bone dry.

The same holds true for my wife's scout 3400.

This wouldn't be true of a more professional gear brand.
