Highlights
Quality
Super great company with quality products (we have their explorer 4000 backpacks too
I’ve especially loved three things about the mountain ultra: it’s lightweight yet spacious, well thought out, and well organized.
They are aluminum, and have developed a bend from each time that i use them.
The large mesh paneling does make the tent of this design susceptible to find dust being blown into the tent.
Price
Picked this up on an amazon flash sale.
You can find a lighter tent, but it's not going to be anywhere near the sub $100 price point that this carries.
I found cheaper one but it didn’t come with a footprint.
Competitiveness
25 lbs for the 2-person model, it rivals the lightest 2 person backpacking tents i’ve seen around its price point (and even a few above).
So far, i couldn’t find any other tent at this price range including footprint.
We looked around and found that the mountain ultra 2 was as large as many other "3-man" tents.
