Id say go by the size you normally purchase for your child clothes if anything 1 size bigger would be a good idea so they have room to grow into it as well

Fits great looks nice and good price for a upf swimsuitmy daughter is about 40 lbs but amazon’s size chart doesn’t let you go below 50 on the review
