No matter how i bend the brackets it does not hold the device snugly as my case makes the kindle too thick

It lies flat enough to fit in my pocket without having to remove it and doesnt hinder use of my pixel 3 xl at all minus the slight obstruction of the clock when used at the diagonal that i use it at it doesnt block the camera or the speakers this way
