The writing is elegant, even when dense, with nothing that feels info dumping or overly indulgent. The ending is… omg!
Mark lawrence does a nice job of starting with a recap. Lawrence's world-building is exceptionally thoughtful and intelligently drawn. What sets lawrence's character development apart is the relatability of each character.

Highlights
Quality
It's a masterclass in character work and worldbuilding, and the plot and theories live rent free in my brain always.
This point is made powerfully through a new character named celcha who belongs to a new species introduced in this book, the ganar.
I have just finished the book that broke the world.
Too many characters, too many povs, too many everythings.
Competitiveness
Introduces a world where canith and humans co-exist but at the expense of the ganar.
