I wont lie most books by jk rowling i find really hard to follow in the beginning

I am dropping one star not because the book is not enjoyable but as typical to rowlings writing the work does have pieces that are overly lengthy and some that could be omitted

Rowling has out done herself with the casual vacancy with excellently layered and textured characters that come alive on the page appearing three dimensional in their idiosyncrasies and small town mentality

The goingson in the small town really arent that different from those in regular life regardless of the setting

Part way through i realized i just didnt care about the characters about what happened next or about whatever plot the author contrived to pull in the reader at the beginning
