I wish this book came with a hardcover. I'm relieved to have come across this book. I remember this book from when my dad, who had type ii diabetes, was cooking with me for awhile.

The photography is good, as is the writing and general layout. Each recipe starts with a “why this recipe works’ section. It teaches you how to shop for ingredients and prepare them.

Each recipe has complete nutritional information including total carb choices. There is a lot of controversy about carbohydrates these days, and some readers may find the levels too high in this cookbook.

Most atk recipes are too big. Some recipes seem to have a great many carbohydrates in them. Recipes that have 20-23-50 carbs are horrible for diabetics.
