The author shows you memorable stuff and then gives you an idea of how to make it your own. Heartily recommended. A third book is in the works and i am eagerly awaiting it's publication.
Approaching solos from a rhythmic perspective alone is worth more than the $5 for the kindle version. Joseph presents a useful way of thinking about melodic soloing. The author does an excellent job explaining triplets and other rhythmic techniques.

This book contains many examples, presented in a progressive and methodical manner. It is a model of what instruction books should be. A knows how to get his point across in clear, easy to understand methodology.
Audio files, ability to download or get in paperback. Infact the audio for all his books are free whether you have the book or not. Being able to listen to the recorded examples provides insight to the phrasing and subtleties of the lines.

Like joseph says in the book it is more important to play one blues phrase in 100 different ways than to play 100 different blues licks

I can read the rhythmic value of notes but i cant read which note im playing so i use the tab for that

Before this book my playing was a combination of mindless pentatonic scale runs with a handful of memorized licks
