I was very satisfied with the way this series ended.
A cast of interesting, likeable characters (with the exception of a few very unlikable ones).
It is not often that i choose to read an entire trilogy back-to-back, but i did so with the dragon and the scholar.
Packaging/appearance
This series has not only great heroes but a great villain, whom you hate from the get-go.
Innovative ending to the story was icing on the cake.

I did feel the first and fourth books were the better stories with the second book feeling very much like filler and the third book a way to wrap up strands started in the second book

Its a light read and there are some proofreading goofs but not enough to keep it from being entertaining

The final volume separates the newlywedded ewan and shannon for much of the book again as ewan and martin seek a permanent solution among the longlived dragons who still remember the wild magic or ltspoilergtback in the days of the human rise against the cruel fey queen led by the brothers ancestor that began the founding of regoneltspoilergt
