Pros & Cons
Pros
This machine is great for making lattes/frothing milk. It heats up quickly, by the crema and taste of the espresso i can tell its getting up to pressure without a gauge, while also being at temperature. Can make very creamy, sweet foam with this machi... Read More
The best espresso machine for home use; comes closest to commercial/barista-prepared drinks. It’s basically the same as the breville barista express minus the grinder attachment. It's easy to use, pretty consistent espresso as log as the grind is also... Read More
Simple, straightforward to use. There is a learning curve however because it is not fully automatic. They offer the same instructions that are included on the quick start page, however the visual will likely shorten any learning curve.
Comes with a tamp that stores magnetically next to where espresso comes out. The tamper is magnetic and ticks away nicely under the front of the machine. You do not need to purchase a separate tamper (it comes with one).
Cons
The steamer nozzle is a single piece making it harder to clean. The filter basket could not be removed from the port-filter wand without using a screwdriver. The 15 bar italian pump starts to leak pressure internally.
On the box it advertises 200 degrees fahrenheit. I'm not sure about the quality of the coffee either, i think it's inferior as teh cream is not as thick.
These are intentionally not repairable. For anyone else, it’s a major design flaw. Get one with digital *, not knobs.

Everything was made of plastic and it only lasted 8 months before the whole machine started leaking water from every part.
Replaced with this guy, you turn it on, less than 30 seconds later it is ready to go.
Price
It was a pleasant, no-hassle experience from start to finish, and i believe worth the $125.
Defiantly worth the money for those who take the time to learn it.
If you’re paying $400-500 for a espresso machine, please get a grinder.
With a double cappucinno running around $7, this machine pays for itself in less than a year.

So i went ahead with the repair, the machine was repaired and shipped back to me at no charge a few days later, and is working well.
However, water stopped flowing recently so i contacted breville customer service---with low expectations, given all the negativ... Read More
Competitiveness
I was debating between a cheaper machine and a breville and am glad i went with this breville espresso machine.
My partner (who i will admit isn’t a coffee snob at all) said, “babe this is as good if not better than what we get at the coff... Read More
It also froths slower than what the commercial brands have so you'll have to froth for 5-10 minutes depending on the milk amount.
If you take the time to learn how to make a coffee with this machine, you will be a better barista than a starbucks employee be... Read More
