We ordered this a few months ago to check out temperature daily during covid-19 and it is consistent with the forehead ones at our clinic.
Looks like a pretty high quality item, hopefully it will last awhile.

After properly placing the device in the ear this takes practice on yourself you hear a series of beeps as the temperature reading is obtained
