But, even if one of his most famous works didn't involve ghosts (to say nothing of dorian gray), the quality would justify its inclusion.
Meikle has done a wonderful job in keeping with the cadence of each author.
The quality of meikle’s imitations of those writers i can’t, for the most part, speak to.
My ho-hum reaction was solely because of my familiarity with the concept.

The foreword at the beginning has a cleverly worded paragraph about the dubious authenticity of the find that i thought was amusing
